PoolVen is built by Pool Ventures Ltd. in Nairobi. We do two things: give Kenyans a vetted way to invest in local startups, and give them a transparent way to fund development in their own county — with the long-term goal of pooling that funding into new towns that raise living standards and create jobs.
Timothy W. Maina
Co-founder & CFO
A project- and construction-management professional (and data-analysis diploma holder, MBA in progress) who builds and runs companies across sectors — from Summand Construction Group to a KEBS-certified water company. He founded PoolVen and leads its finance, product and engineering: the investment platform, the Maendeleo Fund, and the public ledger that backs them.

Co-founder
A practising clinician whose years in clinical medicine put him face to face with the cost of Kenya's development gap — under-served communities and an industrial base that struggles to create opportunity. That first-hand view turned into a determination to change it. At PoolVen he leads strategy, county partnerships and compliance, and drives the long-term new-towns programme.
